Dickerson & Associates Educational Services provides quality professional development training through a combination of online, hybrid, and in-person facilitation of classes. This training is provided for all professionals from various diverse backgrounds. The courses will provide each student facilitation of industry standard professional development with quality instructors. Our services provide facilitation via Zoom or in person, student disability support, administration, additional professional development regarding culturally responsive teaching through Anti Bias Anti-Racist framework lens in the classroom and equity. Our experienced facilitators conduct additional sessions regarding coaching and mentoring in the completion of portfolio and final assessment preparation.

Child Development Associate Coursework (CDA)
The goal of the Dickerson and Associates Educational Service Child Development Associate Coursework program is to prepare participants to fulfill the requirements and pass the assessment of the Council for Professional Recognition; Dickerson & Associates adopt the Working with Young Children text, workbook, and CDA Essentials for Working with Young Children, CDA competency workbook. The texts and guides referenced above were selected as they have been recognized by the Council of Professional Recognition and The Keystone Stars Child Care Quality Initiative as training material that sufficiently details the information necessary for CDA credential obtainment.

First Aid / CPR / AED
ASHI Pediatric CPR, AED, and First Aid an ideal training solution for schools, childcare providers, youth sports coaches, and others required to learn how to respond to medical emergencies involving children. This versatile program is based upon the 2020 CPR and First Aid Guidelines, Caring for Our Children, 3rd Ed, and other evidence-based treatment recommendations. This is a hands-on scenario-based course. The course will include a mix of video, PowerPoint and lecture paired with hands-on practice sessions. Participants will be presented with situations that they will need to practice and treat which will include review and group critique. This is a hands-on class and participants will be practicing some of the skills on their fellow classmates. This course must be paid for in full before coming to the course. Please make sure to read all the directions before the start of the course or you may not be able to attend.

Fire Safety & Emergency Preparedness
This training will meet the annual DPW Fire Safety Training requirement by covering fire safety and prevention. Participants will learn how fires occur, how to prevent fires, review emergency fire evacuation plans, how to conduct monthly fire drills, and planning escape routes for children and staff in a childcare setting. Students will learn policies and procedures related to Emergency Disaster Planning for Childcare Centers according to Pa Emergency Management Agency, (PEMA), and OSHA. They will learn what to do in different kinds of emergency situations and take a look and review their facility's disaster plan. After reviewing the emergency plan of the facility be able to respond appropriately to an emergency. The plan will include how to prepare and react to an environmental disaster that may affect their center and also procedures for a lock down or intruder entry. A review of pertinent supplies needed for a shelter will also be included to prepare for evacuation situations.
